Correction: Due to an error made by the digital team, a previous version of this story had an incorrect spelling for the Irsay Family YMCA. RTV6 regrets the error.INDIANAPOLIS — When schools decide to close or delay school, it often leaves parents scrambling to figure out who can watch their kids. The Irsay Family has what they call a Snow Day Camp, typically from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m., to try to help parents."As soon as we get notification that IPS or another school district across the city has closed, our camp program directors kick into gear and we figure out where we can have camp," Dani Staley, day camp program specialist, said. The camp typically costs between $39-$50 and families can sign up for the camp on the YMCA's website under the youth development section.Sometimes the camps aren't at the YMCA, so there is a Facebook page and number, 317-532-4919, people can call to find out where the camp is."A lot of families love that we offer this," Staley said. "It provides them peace of mind to know that when something unexpected happens we will be there to take over for them. And help them out."
